Thank you

It's been about 5 weeks since I last posted.  I'm done, over it, shook it off and need to push myself to keep on going.  Let me start by saying that we went to New York to a party and to visit family.  Well I made a card and a keepsake box for our nephew's First Communion, and a 12x12 anniversary album for my SIL, did I take pictures of them? No. Why? I forgot (shame overwhelms me right now, if you could only see, really).  Moving on.

I would like to thank everyone who left a comment or emailed me be regarding my sister, thank you all for your kind words. Next.

You know how I have a hoarding problem nice collection of paper, well someone has to tell these paper manufacturers to stop making so many cute pattern paper pads, I want them all!!! there I said it, I admit it, I want more, well maybe I can start buying 6x6 pads instead, don't have many of those.  See no problem here.

I now leave you with more thank you cards I made. Thank you.
Pay no attention to the one that's completely cropped, I totally cropped out the faux stitching, just experimenting and not sure if I like it.  Goodbye.

Cards

Hope everyone is doing well.  Have been working on a 12x12 wedding album for a while and will post pictures up in the next couple of days, as soon as I edit the photos (for privacy purposes).  Meanwhile here are a couple of Birthday and Thank You cards that I recently mailed out.
Hope you have an excellent afternoon.

Weather Broadcast and Birthday Cards

Here in Texas the weather is very strange, don't get me wrong, I love it here and do not miss the Midwest nor West Coast weather with all the blizzards, snow boots, layers and layers, gloves, hats, scarves, earmuffs and snow up to wazoo.  We started to have great weather, the past two weeks we averaged 75-80 degree weather, this past weekend it went down drastically to the 30's (yes northern states I am complaining!!).  Don't like feeling cold, my fingers start getting numbbbbb (you see, can't even type) and I don't enjoy shivering like my little Chihuahua.  Monday/Tuesday 40's, today 50's, Thursday 60's, Friday/Saturday 70's (that's what I'm talkin about) and on Sunday get this...89 degrees.  So dear northern states can you please stop blowing that cold air down here, thank you very much.

Because of this crazy cold weather I have not been walking (started Feb. 15) I really don't feel like taking a stroll with a sweater, coat and gloves, ridiculous I say.

-----End of Broadcast-----

On to some crafty stuff, here are three Birthday cards I made this past weekend.  The first two are 5.5x5.5, the third one is 3x3 and was used on a gift.  I'm loving these paper flowers.
Hope your day is great!!!

Two Cards

These are a couple of very simple cards that I made last year.  One was for a wedding and the other, unfortunately, was for a funeral.

Hope you've had a wonderful day.  Don't forget to create.

Cards, Crops and Cardstock

There are times that life gets so busy, for me its the beginning of summer, beginning of school through New Year (and some times in between).

Lately I have been setting a few things aside for a scrap/craft sale for this weekend as well as making cards and some Christmas gift tags to sell as well, here a few samples:

I joined a meet-up group back in April, they have a couple of monthly crops, well I have been postponing this since then, you see I really like to scrap alone therefore a bit intimidated going to a place where I don't know anyone.  So, I went online and RSVP'd yes, figuring that I will force myself to go and therefore accomplish something or at least get rid on my fear.  It was from 10am to 11pm, (way too long for my first time) but did manage to stay until 4pm.

Well to my surprise it was nice to meet other people that enjoy creating.  They were very nice and talented and very helpful.  Needless to say I chatted a bit and didn't accomplish much, I took a couple of minis that I desperately need to finish (almost but didn't).  And then, there was someone selling scrapbooking supplies, lots!  It will take me too long to describe everything but I will tell some of what I bought:

Glimmer mist, Stickles, Ice Stickles (trying this for the first time), Transfer titles by My Mind's Eye, French Twist word rubons from Autumn Leaves (so adorable), Textured and Glittered Halloween rubons from My Little Yellow Bicycle (stinkin cute), Petaloo Dahlia box green/brown blend.

And also some Teresa Collins cardstock, I never used anything from her line but I am LOVING this cardstock...I see a mini coming to mind, here are some 12x12's from the Journal-it and Documented collections:

These are from the Journal-it Girl and Crush collections:

Until soon, meanwhile have fun creating!

What started as a vacation...

Well, I am back after being away for almost a month.  Me and the boys went to Chicago to visit my family.   It started as a vacation but the day before returning home my mom passed away.  She was in the hospital twice when I was there and even though she had no physical pain, her mind, body and soul were exhausted and ready to go.  And for the first time in many many years she was able to see all of her 9 kids together and I think that gave her a piece of mind.  I am very sad to know she is gone but know she is ok where she is now, and am very grateful that I got to spend time with and got to see her.

While we waited for the funeral preparations I was able to make a 14x17 memory frame to display at the mass.  Please keep in mind that I was not at home therefore, had limited supplies and time.  These pictures are from four different stages in her life, she was so beautiful and talented and I am such a sucker for black and white photos, just love them.

On another note, the following set of 10 cards was mailed out to Jade at Jaded Studios, she is organizing a card sale fundraiser on her blog for Claudia at MSclaudia, you can click here for more information.

This is a simple card that I made for Claudia herself.  I hope she likes it.

Thank you for stopping by and have fun creating.

Working not Neglecting

I didn't forget about my blog, currently working on a Tag Swap and a Card Swap as well as the teachers gift and have been literally waking up in the middle of the night with ideas.  Panic is starting to kick in because I over-think everything I create trying to perfect what I make as to not disappoint the recipients.  Starting to prioritize so I need to finish and Tags (7 total) this week so I can mail out on Monday.  The teachers gifts (14 sets of 4 total) will need to be done at the same time as the Cards (8 total).  Now you see why I am starting to panic!?!

In the mean time I leave you with these two cards I made for my sisters, both have May bdays.

This was made a while back, started with the scallop bottom, thought it was too plain, added more paper...hmm...still plain, decided to wrap ribbon around the widest stripe...still not convinced, added the stars and bling to offset the weight of the bow and sentiment...now I think it's too much but mailed it anyway.  Well my sister liked it so now I'm ok with it. :)

I tend to start very simple, then add little by little.  With this card I decided that it was just right...sound like Goldilocks...just right.

Have fun creating!
